lamictal?

Posted by manduh on August 22, 2011, at 20:34:10

So I started lamictal 2 1/2 wks ago. I'm at 25 mgs currently...and for some reason I'm feeling really off today. I'm having a bit of nausea, and now I'm noticing some visual problems (I'm not sure if it's just my eyes, or really mild hallucinations, or possibly migraine auras). As an added bonus I'm back to being irritable, which isn't too unusual for me.
Any thoughts/similar problems?

hmm.. can only speak about my experience....
I swear when I started lamictal it initially made me more irritable. Actually, I think it made me a little hyper/up at times when the dose was raised. I remember a headache at start up.
However, in general, after getting to my usual dose, lamictal makes me a less irritable, less reactive to a lot of things.
take care, hope things get better

I've definitely had the hyper thing when I started taking it in the morning instead of at night (I switched to mornings a few days after going up to 25).
I knew it wasn't exactly going to be easy getting on this one, but a little reassurance is nice, thank you =)

25mg is a pretty low dose. You probably wont get any mood stabilizing effect until youre closer to 150-200mg. A lot of pepople titrating up on lamictal have posted about anxiety and mood instability on the way up to that stabilizing dose. It can be a rough ride
Visual tracers and other weirdness can happen on it. Stick it out and see if it goes away, is what Id do if it was me.
