Ok, so I tried splitting my dose evenly morning and night and I just couldn't sleep on less than 80mg of Geodon at night.
I am now taking 80mg at night and 40mg during the day.
Don't docs and others say that the target for Geodon is at least 120mg?
I guess at 120mg for me it's working, but anything less makes me manic.

>Stephen Stahl, MD describes Geodon as having a biphasic response curve. Lower dosages are likely to produce a dysphoric mania or agitation while higher dosages act more like an antipsychotic and antimanic.

Funny how some meds can do the opposites at different doses. Phillipa

Thanks Scott - I hate that my old doc was pushing the 40mg so hard. I told him over and over that it was making me manic and he just didn't believe me. My new doc gets it and pretty much said the same thing you just wrote. I see her again next week.
I may have to split it oddly (80 night 40 morning), but whatever works.

My daughter takes a total of 120 - 60/a.m. and 60/p.m. She takes a small dose of trazadone at night. She says it doesn't make her sleepy or fall asleep.. but that once she falls asleep, she thinks the trazadone is what *keeps* her asleep.
