Jeroen I don't want to judge but sounds like them unless they have a good reason not to try it. Why do they say they won't. And all three? Phillipa

If I'm right - and there is no guarantee that I am - I would try the following:
1. Begin Seroquel
2. Titrate Seroquel to 400 mg
3. Discontinue Abilify using a taper.

I might be able to find some medical literature that lends evidence to my idea.

I didn't know about the side effects.I know that Seroquel doesn't work for you right now. However, when you did respond to it, you were not taking Abilify.
It was just an idea.
By the way, my memory still sucks due to depression, so please don't be insulted if I forget things.
I hope you get to try Saphris. I am seeing people respond well to it. I found it to be pleasantly calming. Unfortunately, it didn't help to improve my depression.
I'm still trying to help you.

Just in case you are stuck with going back to Seroquel, you might be able to take propranolol to treat the palpitations or tachycardia produced by Seroquel.

I know what it feels like to be in a black cloud and feeling hopeless and helpless with no future. I have had some pretty famous doctors give up on me.One day at a time.

They either ran out of ideas or refused to treat me with the drugs that I suggested. I had to do my own research. In 1983, a large university program would not give me Wellbutrin, even though they could have. It turned out that Wellbutrin was a bad drug for me.

I bang on about this a bit, but have you tried mini aspirin & omega 3 (2 or more caps) for the tachycardia? It really helps me with Nortriptyline.
Also, have you persevered with Seroquel? It took my heart about a month to get used to each Nortriptyline dose increase.
My resting heart rate is still high (95bpm instead of 70bpm) but thanks to the above it no longer bothers me.
I hope you get some relief soon, whether from Seroquel or otherwise.
This is the end of the thread.
