Does anyone here use this medication? Or have used it in the past?
I am looking at it to treat depression, fibromyalgia, and disordered sleep.
My doc has green-lighted the discontinuance of Emsam so I can have more freedom in pain control. I am not keen on retaking up an ssri/snri.
It's been pointed out to me as a TCA that does not distort sleep archecture. That's important to me.

The only size available here is 50mg, so I split it into 12.5 or less. 12.5 is actually strong enough.
I found it way less bad than ami or doxepin. The sleep improvement does not come from the antihistamine effect.
It numbs the tongue....Could that relate to some pain killing effect?
Take it around 6pm and there should not be a hangover in the mornings

Shame, we have 10mg, 25mg and 50mg caps.

Most TCAs have a temporary local anaesthetic effect, probably due to blockade of neuronal ion channels.

Thanks for the replies. According to the Internet, the US should have 25 mg on up.
I didn't see a warning about thyroid function. Where was that? Though I take levoxyl and have regular blood draws....
Once I tried doxepin at 12.5 mg or something like that. The hangover was incredible. I am a little nervous about the whole thing. But maybe if I even start at 6 mg and slowly walk up the dose it might be more tolerable?

I said 6pm because I go to bed at 8pm.
In low doses it does not feel too bad. I even got chatty on the phone one evening on it.
The spaciness the next day was harder. There was a little constipation too.
But unlike doxepin or ami it had interesting actions on sleep

I mean I might start with only 6 mg (at 6 p.m.--good idea) since I had such a wicked time with the doxepin.

It might have been Scott who said that in some respects trimpramine is like an AP?
It is calming.
My main reservation was feeling amotivational next day. I spent most of it on the couch. But that was the time I took more than I needed.
This is the end of the thread.
