generic zyprexa anyone?

Posted by B2chica on April 3, 2012, at 9:12:15

saw pdoc last night.
didnt change anything in meds.
2 things:
#1 -i went to fill rx of zyprexa and since its in generic now i got generic by Teva.
PLEASE PLEASE any comments about how it compares to brand?
started last night as i'm out of brand. but not sure how its going to work. i haven't had the best luck with some generics in the past and am kinda worried.
any insights appreciated.

#2pdoc really thinks (and i agree) a large part of my mood issue is work related. and inparticular the changes in one boss. he strongly (strongly) feels that this person is BPD, and i told him that i thought i knew BPD since my mom was and think hubby is, but he said i'm not familiar with male BPD and that it exhibits differently, he wants me to Learn about this and learn how to respond.
that i bring all of it inward and need to learn to not do that.
which is totally true. i'm afraid he knows me a little too well.
he said thta if i didnt have the hx i do that it might be different.
anyway he suggested one book and have several others once i read this one.

Next he really REALLY wants me to stay on zyprexa.
i will agree...for now. the weird thing is he thought i looked nice yesterday, thought i looked well. well between my not bathing in 4 days my clothes that didnt fit due to the weight and my hair disheveled and my crying in his office, i am prone to thinking he was on something (jk). but i'm not sure why he thought that.
i do feel better than last week. but still low mood.
i guess maybe he's more right about psych issues vs. med issues?

Poster named Zypexa likes the generic a lot I believe. Maybe he will read and respond.

No way you can switch jobs? Or somehow obtain a different boss? I'm glad you saw you pdoc last night. You sound better today a bit relieved. Didn't know about hubby BPD but how does it manifest differently in males? Phillipa

working on getting different boss. but haven't heard anything yet.
i dont know if relieved or not.
and i didnt know it could be different in males, just when i told him i thought i knew bpd inside and out due to mother, he said in return that i didnt know males, and that i really needed to learn this. so i'm gonna try to get book when i can and start the read.

i figured zyprexa was on the generic but couldnt remember if liked it or not or noticed any different side effects?

my anxiety is quite high today but i had stressor so i understand that one.

does zyprexa generic any better with grogginess?
less, more?

any less weight gain.
so far today my appetite has been pretty normal.
not really even that hungry.
course 5mg i dont have that terrible munchies.
but i was starting to get them last couple nights with my regular zyprexa.
gained 3lbs, not bad but bad ontop of my 6 from Buspar...

my mood is not lifting much.
we'll see what next week brings.
thanks

I've had good results with Teva generic zyprexa. Been taking it since Nov. I hardly notice a difference, if any. I'm glad you are on zyprexa again. I think its good for you! I realy can't live without it or I go bonkers. Don't think there is a substitute.

ugh, i agree.
i just wish i hadnt spent $300 on new clothes last november when i was back to 136lbs. now from the zyprexa last december, buspar last month and start of zyprexa up to 152. actually only gained 3lbs so far on zyprexa and its not that i have munchies, its just when i eat i dont know when to stop.

but good thing is summer is near, i eat way more fruits and veggies then (fresh).
i just hope i can stay on 5mg and not bump to 10. cuz thats wheni really gain weight.

thanks for responding zyprexa.
b2
