Anyone on zoloft ?

Posted by jerseygal111 on May 3, 2012, at 16:57:38

My pdoc is having me try zoloft after other meds didn't work like prozac, lexapro, pristiq and vibyd. We're giving the SSRI's one more chance. What can I expect from zoloft? Any side effects, how long until it works and what is an average dose. He wants me to titrate up to 150 mg.

hey jerseygal!I took zoloft for 2 or 3 yrs.,it helped me with gad, depression.I started at 12.5mg,did best at 25mg(tried 37.5mg)also,did well on just 12.5mg.I did gain weight, but I also wasnt careful with diet.I took it with klonopin and remeron,so maybe thats why dose stayed low.I think it helped alot with my worrying. It also wasnt too difficult to taper and I slept well on it.Good Luck!

Hey Gadchik. It is such a coincidence but I take remeron and klonopin too. I also take lamictal which is the only differenc. I wonder why my doctor wants me at such a high dose on zoloft compared to the dost you were on.

My pdoc knows I have a med phobia,so everything has to start tiny. But when I tapered off remeron and zoloft,I found just the klonopin works for my gad, depression, and panic. But I do think the zoloft helped me get well. Some people get relief on small doses. My hubby takes 50mgs a day of zoloft and has for years.I did lose 25lbs after tapering.I was only on 7.5mg of remeron too.Now just .5mg klonopin.

Im now trying to get off the klonopin, very difficult.Wish I'd tapered it and then the zoloft.I would probably still be on zoloft, but hated the weight gain, also had restless legs from it,but I'd take it again if I were to get depressed or have out of control anxiety. It kind of gave me a mellow feeling, helped with racing thoughts.
