Or stupid. The shrink asked me to spell world backwards and I couldn't see it. The he asked me to count backwards by 7's and I was slow as hell. I could barely do it. Am I a semi moron and I don't know it?

No, it's some test of cognitive functioning, but not necessarily intelligence.

I'm brain damaged. I also apparently have a respectable IQ. The two aren't always as closely related as you might think. I don't know what you're taking or have taken, but it might be time to chill out on the meds a bit.
I went through a phase in which meds (by "meds," I mostly mean uppers and downers, with Abilify to smooth it out) had me so dumbed down that docs wrote me off as a lost cause. OK...when I say "lost cause," I mean they could take insurance company money for treating me, but mostly they just threw random pills my way and laughed about my idiocy.
I've been restored. Clearly, I think this is a religious thing (Divine intervention), but I think its happened before. Give it a while. Honestly, if I can go from being dull normal to being considered articulate and intelligent and capable enough to have hope and a future, I don't see why the same shouldn't be true of you or anyone else.

The last answer was COOL,But if you have mind numbing depression you can hardly talk never mind string a sentance, then the shrink would say to you just answer yes or no, it proves your brain is not wired at the time thats what he is after,

i hate the 7's question. i TOTALLY blank out. i just cant do it. i've had my IQ tested a while back with other psych tests and i ranked rather high. but still cant do the 7's. i probably would struggle with backwards word as well, as when i'm in front of person my anxiety kicks in.
no worries. like others say, Intelligence not linked to brain damage.

My stepbrother got stopped for a DWI and the cop told him to say the alphabet backwards,can you imagine?
Would an MRI show med induced brain damage? I had one recently and after 30 years of meds or just living nothing showed up. After a lifetime of spelling words it's not as simple as it seems to spell a word backwards.
I guess I could be brain damaged but if I was my brain might not register it. In other words I'm out of my league on this noitseuq < that took about 3 minutes with a computer in front of me.
Some meds just make people dumb as a rock which may as well be brain egamad< that's very hard for me. Wish you well.
