Nardil withdrawal + a hypertensive crisis at the same time? All while feeling morbidly depressed and crying inconsolably?? Man oh man, these MAOIs are sneaky and slippery as.....

I'm getting so tired of the fight.

Hi Kat, I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well. Are you switching to a different MAOI? Sucks that Nardil didn't work for you.

Hi vbs, I'm actually just trying a lower dose of Nardil, but I took the elevator rather than the stairs by stopping cold turkey for a few days to get my levels down more quickly rather than simply lowering the dose. A bone-headed move in retrospect. I've found that a higher dose of Nardil actually *causes* anxiety in me, which is weird, but it seemed, at least in the past to work well for my anxiety at around 30mg/day. If that doesn't work out, I've got an rx for Parnate. Anyways, I'll be OK, I've restarted the Nardil, it just can't kick in quick enough!!!! Thanks for writing :)

I know, it's crazy, right Phillipa? I'll admit, the crisis is b/c I took too much Ritalin this AM, in a desperate move to find some relief from my unrelenting depression. Yet another bone-headed move by Kat :( But it's only a mild crisis, some Atenolol is working, plus I took some Gabapentin, and I'm enjoying a nice lie-down draped in purring cats, so I'm starting to feel better.

Thanks for posting Phillipa. You are just so darn kind; I don't know what this board would do without you! :) How are you doing these days?

Kat

Oh okay, you're still taking Nardil, just lowering the dose. Well, I hope you feel better soon. Cheers. :-)
