Nardil is being a flirt

Posted by gilmourr on November 20, 2012, at 1:42:15

So this is my 3rd time on Nardil. First time I went to 75 mg and it was crap. Second time I went to 45 mg for 8 weeks and it was terrific and then I went to 60 mg and it became crap. So now on this third attempt I know 45 mg is my max dose.

Right now I'm on day 15 @ 45mg and I have records of it doing much more last time. I have no side effects atm this time. It's keeping me out of major depression but I still feel like absolute crap, probably an 8 out of 10 on a depressive scale.

I'm going to wait until 8 weeks go by, but has anyone noticed Nardil to work slower each time you go back on it? I really hope it doesn't just NOT work this time, because I was doing really well on 45 mg last time... I just increased it to 60 mg to see if I could gain 100% remission. F*ck.

The depression feels weirder this time though, it's not as sharp and painful, it's more like dull, unmotivated, don't care about anything, don't really want to do anything but just lie down, lazy, don't like my normal music etc.

I've added B12 now to my regimen along with my normal B6 and vitamin D dose now. Hopefully that is it. Because last time I was taking B12 with Nardil and this time I didn't. I'm looking for a hail mary

I do hope it works for you. I've not heard of others where it doesn't work the next time. I know poster Jedi has gone off and back on and it's worked well for him for years. Maybe he will post to your thread. I'm sorry you feel so bad. Phillipa

Just a bit worried about the nausea as it's day 15 and it has only got about 20% better.

Hopefully it goes away.

I think the reason I felt it worked SO WELL right away last time was because the 2nd time I went on nardil was after 3 months of major depression so it was a BIG change.

Day 30-33 is when my anxiety became much better and things started to really look up. Really hope it follows that path. I shall try and remain calm and keep my mind off of it as much as possible.

Exactly. Helps to take notes :) So that I don't jump ship.

I don't mind waiting 30-70 days for the depression to REALLY get better, it's just the nausea that bugs me because I can't go out and do things if I have to go down a side street and start heaving (not puking) (which I did have to twice now). I don't mind doing it, it's just weird.

Really want to go out on the weekend too. I REALLY hope it's just that my 5HT3 receptor is being activated and that it needs to down regulate, or 5HT-1A receptor. Thing is, I'm not sure how MAO's trigger receptors, because TCA's and SSRI's say which one they trigger (because they're specific), so do MAO inhibitors hit ALL receptors? This would make sense why I'm nauseous because then it's definitely hitting nauseating SERT receptors
