Parnate + Nortrip. Can 'Poop Out' be beaten??????

Posted by FrequentFryer on February 14, 2013, at 7:33:43

Hi All.
Just wanted to see how you are doing and if anyone remembers me.

I have had really bad TRD Depression and Social anxiety most of my life and have been experimenting with different cocktails for the last 8 years and have kind of given up.

My last combo was 50mg's Parnate, 100mg's Nortriptiline and 120mg's of Phentermine.
and after taking it for 2 Months I didn't feel much better then my natural state.

I quit them all pretty much over the period of 4 days (I know your not supposed to do that) but after being clean for a month I didn't feel much worse.

This happens to me about every 3 years I quit them all and try to stay med free but always go crawling back to the medicine cabinet.

I recently decided to go back to school (I'm 30 years old) doing Public Relations, (Lots of social Interaction) Trying to face my fears. I can do it med free but its not a pleasant experience and have ended up taking 200mg's of Zoloft figuring why not at least it might help me sleep a bit better. I also take 250mg's of Baclofen every mourning (massive dose) and I soon plan on stopping it due to tolerance and starting 2mg's of Clonazapam. Then when my tollerance for the Clonaz is to high I will go back to The Baclofen I guess.

I dunno man I dunno. I have been on this merry go round for so long. MAOI's make me feel happy to be alive for a couple of weeks then the feeling is completely taken away. It is like the psychoactive gods are just teasing me.

It's not fair...

My Psychiatrist supports me cycling meds like this but yeah. Its a pain in the *ss.

Is anyone else like me and find the pills just don't help for more then a month?

Several months ago, I began to feel extremely tired and depressed . I have bipolar II and did not want to give up on parnate. It had been a miracle drug for me. No other medication even came close.

Before talking to my psychiatrist, I scheduled an appointment with my gp. Part of his lab workup included a vitamin D level. The test showed it was extremely low.

What I had been unaware of is parnate can lower Vitamin Do levels. In addition I had a gastric bypass in 2004, was getting very little outside sun exposure and don't drink milk.

I tried over the counter D3 (5000 u daily) with little results. Then he gave me a prescription for 50,
000 units once a week for 4 weeks.

3 days after my first dose I felt a huge improvement. In another week the fatigue & depression were gone.

Anyone who feels like parnate has quit working, please, before switching, get a physical exam to make sure there isn't another reason for your symptoms. Make sure they check your Vitamin D of course.
