Hi Jay, I'm sorry for your loss. I don't think you want thorazine. Maybe low-dose Seroquel, like 25 - 50 mg. A benzo like Ativan or Xanax would help too. Again, sorry for your loss. Take care.

Jay-
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. My thoughts are with you.
You were one of the first posters to respond to my first thread on babble last year and you were so kind.
I don't know what can help the best meds-wise, but take anything you need to knockout the grief for now, be it Thorazine or something better.
My heart goes out to you.

I took Thorazine for a year or so as a young teen for anxiety and agitation. I find the Risperdal to have the same effect. I don't think I could have gotten through Katrina without it.
The modern AP's should be as effective as the older ones.

Using drugs at this time is sometimes regarded as a bad idea, because by damping down emotions, they can interfere with the natural grief process.
I'd suggest using somthing to help you sleep at night, but only take a sedative during the day if you realy arnt copeing
