Safe to take Lexapro now?

Posted by alexcanada on March 29, 2013, at 20:17:06

I was taking Anafranil for 3 days but had to stop due to horrendous painful anxiety and worsening depression. I took 10mg, 10mg, and 20mg during those days.

It has since been 50 hours since my last Anafranil dose. Is it safe to start taking Lexapro now? I am thinking of 1.25mg today, and 2.5mg tomorrow. Or should I wait longer?

The doses mentioned may seem small but I am very sensitive to meds. For instance my ideal Paxil dose was about 9mg.

Alex did you ask your pdoc or check with pharmacist to make sure it's fine to take the lexapro now? Personally I think it should be fine but I'm neither a doc or pharmacist. Crossing over should be fine. I take small doses of meds also. Good plan. Phillipa

Thanks. Yes it's fine. I took some tonight.

No complications. I assumed as much but just wanted to be sure. Started w/ 1.25mg, and after 2 hours did not experience any negative effects so I took another 1.25mg. So far so good. Will go sleep.
