Someone mentioned to me that lamictal can have very different effects when you get to high doses of around 200mgs. Does anyone on babble have experience with this?

He said lamictal was useless until he got to 200mgs
At that dose he felt increased motivation, energy and an increase in ability to feel pleasure.

I take 200mg. According to my p-doc, this is not a high dose but is the minimum therapeutic dose. It helps me a lot with suicidal ideation.

200 mg/day is the "sweet-spot" for dosing Lamictal when treating depression - unipolar or bipolar. I'm taking 300 mg/day. I respond quite a bit better at that dosage than I do at 200 mg/day. My case seems to be that of chronic bipolar depression.
Unless you are experiencing intolerable side effects, it makes no sense not to try 200 mg/day (100 mg b.i.d.). You might experience some memory or cognitive impairments upon dosage increase. This may or may not resolve with continued treatment. You won't know unless you try.
