Went to pdoc today saw brochure in office, read it and it said that now gentic testing is available to eliminate trial & error in prescribing meds. I asked to have it done as medicaire pays for this testing so much be legitimate. The pdoc said all future drug trials would be based on whether slow, normal, or fast metabolizer of meds. Swabbed my inside of cheek. If nothing more the DNA is a blueprint for future diseases and how & what med to take and interractions with other meds.
Website is www.naturalmolecular.com. I googled it and vides & utubes . What do you think about this? I thought at first was about psych meds which is included but seems the main focus is cardiovascular? Phillipa

Neat. But I'm confused. Can they actually tell if a med is going to *benefit* you with this test? Or does it only show that the med will have a substantial effect on you?

Poser don't know. I was more inclined to think it provided info on whether one was a slow, normal, or fast metabolizer? Do you think it's bona fide? Philippa

I only hope this doesn't become another way for doctors to discount their patients' experiences.
My genetic code thus far does not reflect my actual experiences. Maybe they'll find out more, or maybe there is significant pre-natal or post-natal involvement.
I can just see doctors looking at one sternly and saying "You are supposed to respond to that medication!!"

Dinah that funny!!! Perhaps it will take some of the guess work out and know which dose of a med for medical conditions first are right for each person. This way less time for an optimal dose. Phillipa
