I've been hearing voices for many many many years. Not all the time. But how do you know if you are hearing real people talking about you, or if its just in your head??
I some times think I hear people talking about me at work. But when I ask them, they just say I'm paranoid. How do I know what to believe?
This is what cost me my last job. But my doc was messing with my meds a lot. Basicly I was on real low doses of zyprexa. The same at my new job, low doses zyprexa and hearing people talk bad about me sometimes.
I go to see Pdoc tomorrow. Last time she up'ed zyprexa to 15 mg. I've been less moody, but still hearing voices sometimes. Over the last year and a half I've been at doses as low as 5 mg. And let me tell you its been really ruff. I almost couldn't make it through a day with out some drug like alcohol. And times that I thought I would be on the streets smoking crack. Which thankfully I didn't do. But I did start with pot to get by.

Zyprexa you are very knowledgeable about your condition. I think you realize the voices are not real but just want some reassurance right? Is there no one that is a close friend or family member? Let your doc know the voices are back. Sounds like you need a doseage regulation. Phillipa

I like to imagine they are not real.. But what if they are? Should I be looking for a new job. I just don't know what to think.

I was persecuted after that oil tank accident, like I did it.
Could that have something to do with it?

Perhaps adding an older typical AP like Navane would help more with paranoia and auditory hallucinations than Zyprexa alone. In the meantime, perhaps you can ignore the negative voices - even if they are real. If you are competent at you job, you have only to answer to your superiors. Unless you have some critical need to make friends of your co-workers, then screw them.
Perhaps you can discern the differences between real voices and hallucinations according to content. You might try to journal at home what your experiences were throughout the day. What do the voices say? What are you thinking at the time the voices are heard?
I would really like to see you find peace.

My journeys have showed me that the most common cause of symptoms like yours are either Bartonella or Babesia. Either way, psych meds only partially block the short circuiting those bugs are doing, but do nothing to control them or diminish them. Specific antibiotics work. Psych meds are good for partial symptomatic control but usually do not do a complete job and is often a moving target.
As for the voices, maybe pretend you are hard of hearing? That way, you'll know for sure if someone is talking to you because they will be upping their voice and repeating themselves.

Hey,
I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you're going through this.
I also wanted to say that I think you are VERY possibly making a flawed association. We all want to make sense of events around us, but this one just doesn't seem to fit.
It's good that you're questioning it.
You come across as a good person to me. I can't see why anyone would have something against you.
Share this stuff with your pdoc.
Wishing you well,
Sleepy

chewing gum?
i think there was some study that found that people who heard voices had patterns of neural activation which were similar to patterns of neural activation they had when they were speaking. or when they were thinking. so one thought on what it is to hear voices is that one mistakes ones thoughts for external voices.
so if something like that is going on... then... well, maybe this sounds odd but usually when people think they make little movements with their mouths like they are speaking muffled quietly to themselves. subvocalisations. interrupting those e.g., by chewing gum might help. also... getting your ears checked. can't remember the study (i'm bad like that) but a whole bunch of people who thought they were hearing voices got their ears cleaned out and then they didn't think they were hearing voices anymore. maybe because they could actually hear properly so they didn't have as much scope to 'fill in the blanks' on what they had missed.
might be worth a try, anyways.
This is the end of the thread.
