My doc doesn't believe me, but FOR ME there is a big difference between Depakote ER or DR and Depakote Sprinkles.
I actually took 250mg in the morning (had to take a nap yesterday), but then with dinner I took 500mg Depakote Sprinkles and I slept all night long for the first time in 4 nights. Thank goodness. I'm not sure I can make it up to 1,000, but I'll try (unless I sleep all day).
Plus, no sickness on the sprinkles.
It's amazing how good a full nights sleep can be.

Great news. I hope you will find your "feelgood" dosage!

> It's amazing how good a full nights sleep can be.I'm glad that you are being helped by Depakote. For me, Depakote worked immediately and completely to extinguish the antidepressant-induced manias that I have had. Zyprexa works miracles for me, too. Lithium and Lamictal have not been effective.
Be sure to have a few blood tests over the next 6 months to screen for liver function and platelet count. Usually, there is no problem.

I think there's an xr...i vaguely remember being on it, after vomiting on ER. There may have be a dosage adjustment.
I don't much care for depakote. Trileptal is more my thing. I hear that taking a good multi-vitamin/multi-mineral can reduce the risk of hair loss (not that the risk is all THAT terrible, anyway....)
Good luck!

If the nausea comes back, you could ask for Zofran (ondansetron). It's given to chemo patients and works great.

Good sleep is so important when dealing with mood/anxiety disorders. I say keep meds the same now
