Joe are both docs psychiatrists or is one a medical doctor? Perhaps they should confer and decide which would be best for you. As Prozac as a very long half life. You shouldn't have to make the decision on your own. Did you tell the other doc that you have conflicting advise? Phillipa

Cymbalta has a short half life. Alternate day dosing will produce high(ish) blood levels on the days you take it and very low blood levels on the days you don't. It is suitable for once daily (or twice daily) dosing. I'm not sure that taking it on alternate days would be helpful.

Fortunately, the substitution of Prozac should reduce many of the symptoms.
