any thoughts on Prozac for ocd and does the initial agitation settle down after a few weeks

it makes things feel like everything is good......and no need to obsess and worry....thats what happened when i got on 60mg but it's effect disappeared after some complications happened in 2010
start low dose, move up to 40-60.......80mg can cause mood lift but also mania if you have manic depressive state by keeping too much serotonin in the synapse....

it also depends on the person, my brain chemisty is diffrent than others, and prozac can work well with me, but not others, just as lamictal works well with others, but not me

prozac can cause over-stimulation early on. Maybe an as-needed sedative or low dose antipsychoitc for 2 weeks or so? Me, when I started an SSRI, my doc gave me 5mgs samples of Abilify on top of my prescribed 30 for two weeks.
OCD doses for Prozac are usually higher than the anxiety and depression doses. I think it has something to do with reducing frontal lobe activity...not sure though.

went from 30 Cymbalta straight to 20 then 40 after a week....agitated about 10 days seems to be subsiding ....klonopin on board.....too much serotonin at once? dr says quit obsessing over matters and get well and take your klonopin as directed and get well ..and "forget about stevie nicks" once you are stable we will reduce klonopin to a workable amount....came close to a meltdown
