Hey, my doctor ok'd taking 300mg of lithium carbonate alongside other meds!
I have taken this before. I have felt very nervous about asking for this, but it has benefitted me significantly in the past.
Wish me luck.

Good luck with the lithium, Linkadge. I hope that the lithium will mix well with your other medications and that you'll find it to be at least as beneficial as you've found it to be in the past.

I have taken up to 1500mg before. I get a better effect from the 150mg to 300mg range.
I would be taking it with a low dose of Effexor 37.5mg and possibly some mirtazapine.

300 mg. gave significant help...much more so than 900 mg.
Always, best wishes. Good luck!

> Always, best wishes. Good luck!My sweet-spot for lithium is 300 mg/day. If I go higher, I begin to feel dysphoric, and flat-affect. It is as if my depression is getting worse, even though it is not a global deterioration.
For me, lithium is not a potent anti-manic, even when I stay on it at high dosages for an extended period of time.
As an aside, Zyprexa and Depakote work extremely well for my rare manias. I experience a complete remission of mania within 12 - 24 hours. Zyprexa makes for a good emergency drug for both psychotic mania and suicidal depression.

Yeah, I am definitely noticing some symptom improvement with 300mg. Key improvements are in anxiety, and sensory overstimulation. I am also experiencing less introversion and isolation.
I want to stay on some degree of lithium long term. I dropped it years ago because higher doses weren't going that well with me.
However, I had been taking some of an old prescription periodically. I'm glad the doctor ok'd a low dose since I don't want to be on something that is working that I have to stop.
Currently on:
Lithium 300mg
Venlafaxine 37.5
Mirtazapine 7.5mg
Folic acid 100mcg
DHA 400mgLinkadge
