> is this safe and true, experts?they are talking about some kind of special class of antihistamines. Histamine 2 Receptor Antagonists.
They seem to improve negative symptoms in chronic shizophrenia.
And the only substance which is able to reach the brain is famotidine, at a very high dosage, wich is not studied if safe or not.
But on the other hand, drugs like seroquel, clozapine, olanzapine also antagonise histamine 2 receptor. so.... but im not sure if blockade of this receptor is considered high enough on therapheutic dosages of these neuroleptics...

hey all, i added nutrimonium pro biotic once daily, it seems to be working on my IBS, seratonine, and maybe have some anti psychotic properties or a boost of seroquel XR or abilify in neg symptoms, i feel better in the evenings tho,
i'm listening to music, enjoying myself a bit more, i hope it doesn't cause mania or psychosis soon... i also had to go before taking this pro biotic, 4-5 times to the toilet every day!! something fishy going on (due to the minocycline i tried that is an anti biotic) it left something behind unfortunatelly. but it's improving thanks to the pro biotic, i was diagnosed with IBS at the hospital and a fatty liver. :S
i am hoping i will improve more but it's expensive it's 36 euros in the pharmacy, maybe i was missing some vitamins in my body, maybe that's why i am bit better too.

Jeroen,
It's really good to hear that you seem to be benefiting from the probiotic supplement that you've been taking. From what I've gathered, probiotics do seem to be a promising treatment for depression and also anxiety, and the fact that you're noticing a response to your supplement can only add to the hope surrounding the therapeutic potential of probiotics. Hopefully the benefits that you've been experiencing so far will persist into the long run.

it's better then Seroxat 30 mg :) Tomatheus
been taking it for 2 weeks and few days, my psychosis seems also bit better, normally an SSRI would make me manic in a month or so, but this feels different... and has even a better effect
everything has improved for now :)

Seroquel is basically one of the world's most potent antihistamines, and that's about it. All of its other mechanisms pale in comparison to its antihistamine potency. The other actions barely even count actually, in comparison.
When someone says the word antihistamine, these three words pop into my head:
Remeron
Seroquel
NyQuilContrary to the medical establishment, I do not consider Remeron an antidepressant and I do not consider Seroquel an antipsychotic. They are the world's most potent antihistamines.
But some people with schzo spectrum symptoms have found improvement with those drugs. So it would be accurate to say that antihistamines can treat schizophrenia.
