have you ever been on an anti-convulsant type mood stabilizer? I take 2 of them...1200mgs/Trileptal and 100mgs/Lamictal. I'd rather not be on 2 anticonvulsants, but it helps w/ mood swings (in both directions) and also...I've been able to drop my as-needed Risperdal, so I'm just on 30mgs/Abilify. That's a lot of Abilify, but it = about 400mgs/Thorazine, apparently, so that's not too high, actually.
Anyway...for me, the mood stabilizers keep things...well...stable...and also help me keep my dose of neuroleptic at the same level...no switch to high dose seroquel or as needed extra Risperdal. Maybe it could help you?
AP/AAP drugs can only do so much, and a lot of times less is more with AP/AAP meds.
Just a thought.
