Dear All,
I have been going well on Parnate 120mg per day and (recently) adjunctive Lamotrigine 300mg per day.
Over the last three months, however, and disappointingly, I have developed obvious root and pit cavities and bad tartar. I now must have 8 dental filings which are very expensive. I have always practiced good dental hygiene and eaten healthily.
I put this down to xerostomia (dry mouth /hypofunction of the the salivary glands).
I also experience continual burbing on parnate.
Has anyone experienced the above side-effects and, if so, what treatment did you have to reduce or eliminate them?
Thanks.

i didn't have cavities, but I did tell my dentist I was taking a drug that caused dry-mouth. He gave me a mouthwash to use daily. Can't recall the name but all the big CVS-type stores have it.

I think that's what it is...enzymes or something, boosts moisture in your mouth. Tastes good, too, and its mild.
This is the end of the thread.
