anyone tried provigil with latuda?

Posted by porkpiehat on March 3, 2016, at 21:03:13

I'm on day 5 of latuda 20 mgs with lamictal 150mgs and I'm have a tough time with fog and focus. Reading is difficult, like I don't understand the words...but I'm taking hard sciences, I can read these posts ok.

I have a midterm tomorrow and I just can't absorb anything. I'm thinking about adding nuvigil 25 mgs but it makes my doctor nervous. She thinks that and the celexa I just dropped are somewhat destabilizing for whatever mood disorder I may have.

It's funny because I've tried latuda TWICE before and although it gave me a little fog I felt my cognition was a little better overall. And I could wake up pretty easy in the morning. The only difference then was the 15-20 mgs of celexa (I think?)

I don't like Latuda, but 5 days is not enough to evaluate its worth.

Have you tried combining Wellbutrin, Abilify, and Lamictal 200-300 mg/day. This might not give you brain fog and can help with concentration. I don't see how adding Provigil can hurt, but it seems like a reasonable stop-gap measure.

I don't know if Celexa is necessary. How does it help you now? If you still want to use a serotonergic agent, I would go for a SNRI in combination with the other drugs. If tolerated, you would be increasing your chances of responding to treatment. If you do respond to treatment, you can then experiment and determine which, if any, drugs can be discontinued.

This is nothing more than a brainstorm, and is not meant to be a recommendation. That's for your doctor to do.
