have you tried Abilify? It'd be cheaper, and there's more data behind it.

Hi Joe.

What symptoms of bipolar disorder are you looking to treat? Mania? Depression? Psychosis?

I tried Vraylar (cariprazine) two months ago. It made my bipolar depression much worse within the first few days. I do better with Abilify (aripiprazole). These two drugs are similar in that they are both dopamine receptor partial agonists. The only other available drug that does this is a chemical relative of Abilify called Reluxti (brexpiprazole). I might try Reluxti if I remain unsatisfied with Abilify.

Are you depressed right now?

If you find that your mood switches between mania and depression frequently, mood stabilizers are probably indicated. I would consider combining Lamictal (lamotrigine) + lithium. If you can't tolerate lithium, you can use Trileptal in its place. An antipsychotic is probably indicated as well. As C_E suggests, Abilify has a documented history of being effective and safe. From what I understand, the combination of Abilify + Lamictal works well for bipolar depression.

Have you ever tried lithium before? What was the result?

Friends,
It is written above by Scott. The promotion of the drugs he is advocating could cause addiction, life-ruining conditions and death. This is all being promoted here by a psychiatrist allowing Scott to post advocating mind-altering addictive drugs without specifying the adverse consequences that could befall the readers that are decived to think that these drugs are safer than they really are. And worse, readers could think that there are no consequences at all by taking these drugs that Scott is advancing here as "medicines." They are not medicines because they do not treat a disease or cure. They cause disease and can increase depression and cause psychosis and brain damage and induce suicidal and homicidal thinking.
The FDA requires precautions to be posted along with promotions of drugs in media, including here. The issue is if the drugs are being advertised, and if Mr. Hsiung is being paid by the drug manufacturers. I do not think that is correct, as here the drugs are being promoted by a doctor as being medicines, which I think constitutes false advertising that could lead to your death. By Mr. Hsiung using third-parties, like Scott here, and that his rules are to be supportive, then a reasonable reader could think that Mr. Hsiung is himself promoting these drugs that kill thousands of people each month. And worse, Scott's promotion of these drugs could be a reckless disregard for the truth and Mr. Hsiung does not intervene to point that out to you. This could lead those without a shepherd of truth to be led astray by the advertising that could deceive you into thinking that these drugs are safer than they really are and be led to your death.
If you could take this advice I give you, like a brother, find out the whole truth, or does it all go through one ear and out the other?
Lou

Hi Joe.

I just thought I would mention that most people need to take 200 mg/day of Lamictal to see good results. Some people have to go up to 300 mg/day. I take 300 mg/day.

You still need something to address the mania. Lamictal by itself usually doesn't work for mania. You could try Abilify or possibly Reluxti. Reluxti is less apt to produce akathisia than Abilify. I am considering Reluxti for myself to address both depression and mania.

Friends,

The shepherd of drugs is also the sheherd of death. Here, Scott is leading the poster to think of taking the promoted drugs by Scott. Will he follow Scott? And does Scott also include the horrific consequences that could befall the other poster by taking those dugs? You see, the shepherd of drugs is also the shepherd of death. For the poster is one pill away from sudden death and/or being caught on fire roasting alive in a burns unit where blindness could be a result. Scott doesn't tell the poster that. You see, the shepherd of drugs is also the shepherd of deceit. And the sheep are led astray to their deaths.
And is it any wonder that Scott is allowed to post to lead readers astray? I don't know how Mr. Hsiung gets away with it. I came here to help people and save lives. And this is what is supportive by Mr. Hsiung by Scott. I guess I'm just the biggest fool of all.
Lou

Someone here has reported doing very well on Vraylar. He has OCD and depression, too.

Good luck.

I have two questions.

1. How are you feeling today?

2. Why did you stop taking Tegretol?

Both you and Lou Pilder have your Babblemail activated. You could easily communicate your messages using this amenity.

Do you really think that your post here is conducive to the effective use of the Medication board? Without moderation, you can do anything you want, of course.

What do YOU want for the Psychobabble Medication board?

Perhaps you can use the Social board for social posts?

This being an administration issue, I posted a redirection to the Administration board if you would like to discuss this issue further.
