With my RN newsletters the word from the doctors and Rn's Respiratory Therapists is that the many older medications originally were being repurposed for use with Covid and they work. But was rather shocked to hear the Doctors finally speak out and say that they were basically not allowed to prescribe them for Covid. According to the MD's they work . Even Luvox is said to carry protection from the virus that can leave you with long haulers. Are your Countries being anymore specific about this? I can copy & paste my updates with MD's & other medical personnel's comments. I get them daily. Delta variety for those not vaccinated is here in the USA l0% of new cases are Delta which is more deadly, more contagious and spreading rapidly. Thoughts? Phillipa

I think it's great that there are purposes other for meds that are inexpensive one originally an antidepressant for treating new viruses and other that don't cost a lot and we already have tons of. Like the anti-malarial drug that is safe even for pregnant females. There are no new psych meds being developed now. I think I read the last one was an antipsychotic and thats it. Focus now is on the pandemic and now the Delta variant.

With hindsight it is obvious that coronavirus could have been stopped by a hard lockdown with social distancing and all the rest 18 months ago....as the Chinese have successfully done.

It helps being an island if air transport is controlled. We need mass vaccination to open up without outbreaks. We could only get the AstroZeneca, but figured that when covid inevitably breaks out we would be grateful to have had it.
Near us there are shops with signs up asking people recently vaccinated to not enter for 14 days to avoid shedding the virus. Also stuff about 5G, alien DNA and the Chinese reading our minds.
Meanwhile Peruvian deaths are down to 110 a day, way better than 550 as they were.

Sigi so Covid is going down there but still masking for stores. Same here but now this Delta really the one variant from India is appearing all over. So you got the Astra Zeneca vaccine? Did you have side effects? Phillipa

Not just masks, but face shields worn from the head, and huge fines for going out when not permitted. I know a family who have been sequestered in an apartment for 18 months, the kids being homeschooled by a single parent. Every time anyone goes in or out they worry. They have all had covid, but may get it again.

The more the virus is uncontrolled the more it will mutate.

Yes, and I felt a touch off for 2 days. Nothing really.

Yes. The government bungled the rollout, and we get what we can.

There is Pfiser but for those under 50.

There's no virus here, except occasionally someone gets out of quarantine and spreads it. Some people like going out. I've been known to go outside too. I don't know about people. I prefer to read about them.

Taiwan as well. I heard they closed the border december 2019. It seems to be easier for island states.

NZ maybe. Taiwan is a little difficult with the language Mandarin.
