Just glancing over this:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21205415/
and related articles. I have been taking Oregano oil (in capsule form) mostly for it's antibacterial and antiviral properties. My immune system seems to be very, very weak, despite good nutrition and exercise. I suffered a severe, 3 week stay in the hospital for pneumonia, a collapsed lung, and massive bacterial infection that infested every inch of my lungs. I have had repeated infections going back to when my psychiatric illness started.
Antibiotics seem to always make me feel better. Oregano kills all bacteria, so I supplement with a small dose of probiotic, now. I also use Olive oil to make me poop everyday. Olive oil is amazing for you.
Anyhow, the psychiatric properties of Oregano (I take a small, standardized dose) seem to, slowly and mildly, be kicking in. I reduced my Effexor dose, so we will see what happens. (Hoping for the morning wood :)
On another note, I discontinued my trial of Abilify, because of, yet again, major anger and agitation. I found info on Pubmed that apparently Abilify can increase Positive symptoms in Schizophrenia. No doubt, as my dysphoric mania almost hit psychosis. (Pre-Oregano.) :(

Yeah, there is a lot of health in the spice cabinet.
You could mix
Black pepper (SERT, DAT, MAO-B, endocannabinoid reuptake inhibition, sigma agonism) turmeric bioavailablilty enhancer.
Turmeric (anti-inflammatory, MAOI)
Oregano (triple reuptake inhibitor).

Pizza helps depression :) I knew it. No seriously alternative stuff can work. Doing much better with low dose 5-HTP and liposomal GABA.

Yeah, saffron too (triple reuptake inhibitor). Nutmeg has some MAOI properties as well as MAGL and FAAH inhibiting properties.

Cool. What is MAGL in a nutshell?

Is nutmeg advisable?

So basically your body has natural 'endocannabinoids' like anandamide and 2-AG. These are metabolized by various pathways including reuptake and degrading enzymes (like FAAH and MAGL). By inhibiting FAAH and/or MAGL you raise the levels of these endocannabinoids.
Nutmeg has been known as 'poor man's cannabis' long before the effects on these enzymes were discovered.
High doses of nutmeg can cause all sorts of side effects however. But, I mix 1/4 tsp in tea and do notice an effect. It can make you feel a little spacy/detached however.
