My sister takes valerian root extract when she gets upset about something or stressed out. She claims that it works well for her. Does anyone have experience with this?

It actually is my sister... I don't take it because I'm pregnant and I'm not sure if I can.

I was joking.My bottle does not have any warning for pregnancy and the only site I found one is

I think the comment is a bit exaggerated but you should consult.
Ca/Mg can be an alternative for mild tension.

I take it frquently. It is very calming but does not make me tired. I only use Valerian that says "standardized". I found others to be less effective.
