hi Lar!
How you been doing?
Listen, i was just on my way over to admin to see what’s up there ... ... when i thought i’d drop by here with this supplement list to get your expert advice, PLEASE ... ... please?
... i’m sort of dx-ed “depressed” and have to take 10 mg of lexapro as punishment ... (ha!) ... ... i’m a 52 yr old guy ...
... then because my sinuses do whatever, i also take a couple snorts per nostril of “Nasacort” per day, usually in the morning ...below we find my supplements ... ... i wash all these guys down with coffee every morning ... (... not too good huh? ... but i LOVE coffee!)
i also eat a varied diet ... ... i like vegetables and fruits ... i eat beef upon occasion(s) ... and grains and chickens and fish and burgers and fries ... ... no, i quit the fries ... a lot fewer sweets these days too ... ... carrots are sweet ... apples ...grapes
do i need to spread this out instead of all at once? ... ... this or something like it, is what i have done for years ... repeated physicals from various and current gp(s) have not shown any liver or kidney inadequacies ....
i used to take st. john’s wort and gingko biloba ... ... but i thought that they had been de-bunked ... ... not so?
everything i am taking is out of sheer superstition ... ... ... i have not read nor seen any scientific research for any of these supplements ... ... well, except for the fish oils .... but that’s because i got that from you ... i’ve been taking the omegas for 5 or 6 months now ...
you are my hero here at Babble ... ... i appreciate your patience and value your advice ... you are a kind, good guy ... thanks! ... ...

Lil jimi, a note on the aspirin: my dad, who starting taking daily aspirin after all the publicity about its preventative-measure benefits, just found out that it was aspirin that was causing shooting pains in his eyes. Please check on the side effects of taking aspirin so you recognize them if you get some.

Save your prayers. (And, thanks.) He had seen his doctor and was waiting for results from a specialist's tests when my mom read a story in the paper. He stopped taking aspirin and it went away. The specialist gave him a "nothing I can see wrong" answer. I guess doctors don't know yet to ask about aspirin when they hear that complaint. Since so many people began taking aspirin everyday, I guess they'll learn soon.

Sorry about the delay in answering, dude. You know why....I been busy.
Everything looks well covered. Possibly too much copper. If you've got copper plumbing in your house, you don't need copper supps of any kind.
Why the level of aspirin and ibupprofen? Do you have arthritis? If not, you need only about 40 mg aspirin a day to obtain the health benefits attributed to it.

hi again Lar,
> > Sorry about the delay in answering, dude. You know why....I been busy.
... heh, well it’s all time better spent by me anyway ... took me like two months to write my original post ... after the initial inertial resistance, it was like a week of trying to transcribe all these little bitty numbers from off of the sides of more than a dozen bottles ... ... that was one learning experience all by itself ....
but there’s been learning going on since i posted .... .... plus another dose of the initial inertial resistance (activity adaptation syndrome) .... .... jim can’t be in too big a hurry if he hasn’t at least finished his homework ...
... ... i’m not in a hurry anyway ... and you have been busy, too ...
> > Everything looks well covered.
..... one thing i learned is What the heck i Am taking ... ... man, i Had almost no idea ... ... pure superstition ... ... now i know and i recognized, after i posted, that the mannatech “glycentials”, while being proud of their “phyto nutrient complex”, is nutritionally insignificant compared to the rest of my supplements ... it has a lot of microgram quantities for supplements i’m taking milligrams of ... ... “who knew?” says jim ... until i wrote up my list anyway ....
> > Possibly too much copper. If you've got copper plumbing in your house, you don't need copper supps of any kind.
i have copper plumbing ... ... my multi-mineral gives me 1 mg ... i got another mg from the glycentials, which i am going to quit ... i read that copper can help fight dihydro-testosterone, which is the agent responsible for male-pattern baldness ... ... what are the symptoms of too much copper? ... they start calling me ‘Penny’?
> > Why the level of aspirin and ibupprofen? Do you have arthritis? If not, you need only about 40 mg aspirin a day to obtain the health benefits attributed to it.
... .... i have gotten into this habit of abusing analgesics .... i don’t have arthritis ... ... although i do have significant orthopedic compromises ... ... it is really the allergy/sinus aches which encourage the ibuprofen ... ... plus i heard ibuprofen was shown to decrease the plaques which build up in the brains of alzheimer’s patients ... ... ... the garlic and the aspirin are attempts to help in the fight with my HDL/LDL ratio, to keep it below 3.44 ... ... and i want the blood thinning benefits from the aspirin too ... ... but my triglycerides and total cholesterol are low enough ... ... i work to raise my HDLs ... ... but i can cut back on the aspirin ...
how about my fish oils there? ... i’m getting enough, you think?
should i take some of these supplements separately from each other?
i feel a lot better knowing what i am taking, instead of gobbling 17 pills in blind faith ... thanks for your input!never in a hurry ...
.. ... appreciate your help here ... and always ...thanks!
