Testosterone cream for women's lack of libido

Posted by Shyla on September 16, 2004, at 16:43:19

Can anyone share their experience or knowledge about whether or not testosterone cream really works for women? I'm taking Effexor XR, and my libido is gone. I've had breast cancer, but my doc tells me that the cream does not convert to estrogen like the pills do, so it should not be a threat. I've done some internet research, but I couldn't find any conclusive evidence that it is safe. Is anyone using it? And does it activate libido? Your responses will be most appreciated. Thank you.

I've used testosterone cream off and on for a few years. I tried it while using Effexor. My libido did return somewhat, and it made achieving orgasm much easier. I just get bored having to put it on twice daily.
Also, as a side note, my doc told me to put in directly on clitoral area. This caused some unpleasant side effects. I've now started using it on upper inner thighs. Works much better!
best wishes,
