the exact scientific actions of this Fo-ti? Is it an MAOI, or does it affect re-uptake of neurotransmiters? I'd like exact as possible info on all of this, plus claims it restores "sexuality". Please he...I think we could all benefit.
Thanks,

I'm not really sure as I have found it VERY difficult to get info on the exact actions of chinese herbal medications. There are resources that give an overview but as to specifics - I find it difficult to find that. Most sources I've seem have its actions similar to gingseng and dong quai in terms of a "youthful tonic". Interaction info seems to be difficult to find, too.
Folks on alternative may be of help.

Go to PubMed (just google "pubmed") and enter Polygonum multiflorum in the search box. I got 42 results, most in English.

Go to www.mountainroseherbs.com and read the info. You may also type in "fo-ti" on google and you will have more info than you ever wanted. If you do decide to purchase this herb, I highly recommend www.mountainroseherbs.com. I have been a customer of theirs for years, their herbs are excellent, their prices are the cheapest I have found, and their customer service can't be be beat. good luck!
