DHA versus EPA

WHEN DOCTORS TALKED OF TREATING THE SOLE SURVIVING MINER, THEY SPOKE OF USING DHA WITH NO MENTION OF EPA. IS ONE TO ASSUME FISH OIL HIGH IN DHA IS BETTER FOR THE BRAIN?

Brain and body: We need EPA, DHA as well as GLA, an Omega 6. Part of success with EFA's is these being in proper proportion to one another. Check out "The Zone" for more info, cause when they are done right, they can make a difference.

Actually the survivor was administered 30 grams of fish oil that contained 18 grams of a blend of DHA and EPA so both were used. Hope this helps.

Sounds interesting, can you tell me more? What sole surviving miner? And why did they use DHA to treat him?

I'm confused! I live in the UK, so maybe its a USA related story??? Our news (obviously) tends to be UK/Euro-centric. Well, and some middle east stuff.

Kind regards

Meri
