There's this stuff called catuaba I tried, and don't recommend. I wonder if there is a connection.

Okay, I did some digging. It appears to be a combination of three herbs. One of which is which is pretty high in caffeine content - which probably explains the stimulatory affect. There isn't much published on it in pubmed listed journals.
I would use with caution.

I am wondering which portion is responsaable for the monoamine uptake effects.
So far, we only have SJW which has effects on monoamine uptake.

It was hugely bitter and made me nauseous, and I am tolerant of herbal tastes.
It was supposed to be an Amazonian aphrodisiac, as I remember.
