Follow up on Cytomel induced Hyperthyroidism

Posted by zana on April 14, 2007, at 11:24:34

My pdoc was great about this. I have had such a remarkable recovery from depression. She is going to take me down to 25mcg and see if symptoms return. If so she is game for going back up to 50mcg. She said the long term risks are osteoporosis (a good incentive to keep up the weight bearing exercise and calcium) and heart arrhythmia which she does not think I am at risk of. I think we would consult an endocrinologist who hopefully would agree that these are not grave risks.
Right now, I am a happy camper and I would encourage others who have had resistant depressions to explore this with their docs.

Right now I'm not clear on what you are saying worked for you. Do you have a documented case of hyprothyroidism and my endo said that cytomel gives muscles energy lasts like a pot of coffee for about a few hours so he said no not for me. And the night sweats I had were from when My thyroid went to hyper from hypo classis of hasimotos. Love Phillipa
