Vitamins

I was recently reading about checking the labels on your vitamins, make sure it says where they were MADE, not just where they were distributed, if it just says where they were distributed they were probably made in China and who knows what suspicious ingredients may be in them. Cecilia

Precisely why do you think the Chinese would put odd things in your vitamins???

They've been using vits and herbs far longer than us.

Hello TJ

I wouldn't buy vitamins from China, just because they have lower purity standards.

When it comes to herbs, they've been doing it forever, and those should be good so long as they come from an area that is not too full of pollution.

How's the weather.
I heard it was 41C in Rome in early June.

Hiya

Saw the floods in Sheffield on the TV.

I was speaking to my accountant, who was doing the Amsterdam, Malta, leaving from Rome thing (as one's accountant does) and that seemed very hot for Europe.

I wondered if the temperature increase was more noticeable there than here.

Hi Declan,

I sure felt the heat it last summer Dec. Over 45C in the kitchen .. and the condensed milk had all caramellized in the drawer I'm finding.. not sure what temp that is supposed to happen.
I MUST get an airconditioner for the kitchen.
I couldn't recall my password for ages, after changing it on DrBob's suggestion.(I expected that!)
Have you any idea of how and where I can get my hands on some fo-ti. The usual GNC etc have not heard of it. One assistant thought I was talking of a cleaning product?

I know quarantine doesn't allow most herbs after looking at importing some Twinings herbal teas from the UK, due to their concern over roots and seeds etc.
.. So have you tried it, and if so, where do you get it from?

Here's some of other things Fo-ti is supposed to help:

Fo-Ti root has been shown to lower cholesterol levels, according to animal and human research, as well as decrease atherosclerosis.16,17
This says Fo-ti is good for constipation too and hair

Hi Jan
Polygonum Multiflorum is easy to get.
In Australia there is always the Mediherb range from herbalists and some of the better health food shops.
Then there are Chinese herb shops which certainly have it.
If you live in a city you should have no trouble.

I've taken fo-ti (Nature's Way). I think it is a good herb. Unfortunately it has very high estrogenic activity, but is also a MAOI.

Thanks Dec,
Do you have any favourite places in Sydney where I can look?.. perhaps in Chinatown?
or favourite health food shops?
I used to like Russell's before they closed, and my local health food shop , before it closed. Now around here, all they seem to sell is packeted supplements!
Just asking to be spoonfed here a bit, LOL
