would i be asking for trouble if i used L tyrosine or L phenylalanine with dexamphetamine to treat ADD. In my logic the tyrosine would help replace what the dex is taking out.
Maybe even allow me to take a lower dosage.
right? Only just started on this medication.
Bipolar 2, Borderline personality disorder and now ADD (which apparently is causing the Bipolar 2 and we may need to add a mood stabiliser.)ANY thoughts welcome! or recommendations!

I tried L-Tyrosine (500 mgs capsule, 1-2 per day) with Adderall XR (15 mgs/day) for a couple of months. It's really hard to say if it made a difference that justified the added expense. I think it boosted norepinephrine because I always get constipated from drugs that boost NE.
I have read that Tyrosine should be used more at the dose of 2000-3000 mgs per day, but for outright replacement of stims, not supplementation, so I tried a lower dose.
You can try it, maybe it will work well, but I'm not sure I found it worthwhile.
This is the end of the thread.
