Being bipolar

When you're bipolar and taking meds, you have to let your brain chemistry adjust to the medicine and finally, you are more stable and doing things that you enjoy. Then, when you add supplements it takes another period of time before they help you. It seems every single supplement I take either helps my depression or worsens it. I guess I may be very sensitive to any chemical substance. For example, I changed my supplement regimen a little today and I added potassium, calcium, and zinc. Now one of these or a combination of these is keeping me up tonight. Believe it or not, I've had insomnia from taking too much calcium during the day, about 1200mg. I don't think I really need the calcium anyway. I sleep like a baby when I just take my B vitamins, vitamin C, and 1 fish capsule during the day and at bedtime only B3, B6, melatonin, and vitamin E. I guess I shouldn't mess with a good thing.
