Hello,
Does anyone know: can I try passionflower, scullcap, or taurine while on meds (Ativan, Trazodone, Prozac)? These meds aren't helping anymore and I'm frankly sick of them. Would like to test supplements.
Thanks,
Amelia

Hey Amelia. That sux. I was trying to start a big thread on anxiety on the other board, but it didn't work. Here's a post on research for anxiety treatments; includes herbs:

The one's proven to work (in most cases) seemed to be Kava, Passionflower (extract),..I'm so tired I forget the rest. Passionflower takes time to build up...I wouldn't take Kava regularly at all, but maybe try the real tea sometime, instead of the pills of who knows how old and stale the leaves are. That doesn't mean other stuff doesn't work of course. Of course phenibut usually works according to people who try it, but I don't like what I hear about it, the withdrawal...
I want to take Taurine too; when I get some money, I need to buy lots of supplements for my son and I. I'd take Taurine with the meds.
How long have you been on Prozac? I bet that's why you are miserable.
Supplement with D-Amphetamine or get rid of the Prozac and take the D-amp. I just have a feeling you have the same issue I have.
I liked the Buspirone for a while, but anxiety has been acting up real bad, panic attacks. I've slept about 12 hours since Fri/Saturday. I'm so exhausted. I think the Buspirone works as an AD too; I wasn't really depressed before, maybe a side effect of anxiety, but my mood has been very positive and consistent for some time now...until a week ago w/anxiety escalation.
I can't remember all your symptoms, or what you've taken.
You've done a TCA right? Ensam patch?
I'm on now D-amp + buspirone; it's good when I don't get intermittent anxiety; but the d-amp does not work every day. It made me more tired today.
My next trial, as if I have a choice, would be Ensam + klonopin or
Dextro + buspirone + klonopin or
Provigil + klonopin
thinking about guanfacine in some capacity...or cytomel for thyroid while keeping current remedy.Next PDoc will probably scribe me Pristiq, and not let me choose. I'm already looking to make an appointment with another one, before I see this guy.
I'm DONE with xxRIs.
Sorry I don't know much about the supplements, not sure what I'm trying to say. Hope you get well soon though...
This is the end of the thread.
