I thought this would be fun to try and hey it has got to be healthy. I will be using my oven to incubate the yogurt.

I will be using the following starter:

What do you all think?

I was wondering if someone could use probiotic capsules for your starter? I read where someone was doing that it appeared it worked well. I thought of using a combination of two starters.

Also what about using something like a Yakult drink for your starter? Could you eventually dilute out or digest the milk portion if one is sensitive to diary?

Thoughts?

Hi John,

Good to see you are really interested in this area of health. I think it has a huge potential. You may like to look into cultured vegetables as a non-dairy alternative.

I bought this jar. Not tried it yet, but it looks good.

One of the most potent brand of yogurt for probiotics is Erivan. I get it from Wholefoods. I mix in Wyman's Wild frozen blueberries and Back to Nature Apple Blueberry granola, DELICIOUS!!! Some may not like Erivan though. My stomach always feels great afterwards. Not sure if it is helping my anxiety though..hmmm..maybe it is.
