Hello,
Just wondering if anyone knows any safe supplements that can be taken with antidepressants and anticonvulsants that lower coritsol? Whenever i get up in the morning I feel like I have excess worry and it abates throughout the day. I have heard that cortisol is highest in the morning and then decreases throughout the day so I am interested to see if cortisol is part of the problem?! Many thanks,
mogger

Phosphatidyl Serine is supposed to be one of the best supplements to reduce cortisol, 300mg per day. Phosphorylated Serine is supposed to be even better absorbed and is cheaper. Seriphos would be the name of a decent brand for the latter version.
DHEA might also be a valuable supplement to counteract Cortisol.
"DHEA protects your body from the hormone cortisol and the stress that triggers its production. Like DHEA, cortisol is secreted by the adrenal glands. If oversecreted, cortisol injures your body's tissues. When you're under stress, your adrenal glands release large amounts of cortisol. People under chronic stress have high cortisol levels (unless their adrenal glands have already burned out, in which case their cortisol levels are low). The presence of too much cortisol leads to age-accelerating damage. As stress accumulates over decades, cortisol levels tend to rise as well. Many people over age 40 have elevated cortisol."

thanks nolvas,
I will try PS. I looked at DHEA and drug interactions and there were some contradictions with zoloft and buspar both of which I am on. Thanks so much for the info,
