For anyone who's interested in fish oil, I did some calculations on EPA/DHA content and pricing at the quantities recommended by my NP.
Taking 8 capsules of GNC Triple Strength provides 5.2 g EPA and 2 g DHA at a cost of $1.56 per day. Taking 16 capsules of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega provides 5.2 g EPA and 3.6 g DHA at a cost of $4.66 per day. Taking 2 2/3 tablespoons of Carlson's liquid cod liver oil provides 3.2 g EPA and 4 g DHA at a cost of $2.73 per day. All prices from amazon.com.
