Could Probiotics cause insomnia or anxiety?
Maybe it needs to be taken for a little while to work properly?

It probably means there is a considerable yeast/fungal issue in the intestines. The probiotics disrupt them and displace them, give them competition for space. Yeast/fungus release all kinds of toxic substances in their daily routines, but even more so when dying. And that crap then gets absorbed into your blood system and will of course impact the nervous system. Could show up as insomnia, lethargy, aches and pains, anxiety, nervousness, depression, pretty much anything, depending what the toxins are, how fast the yeast are dying, and where the toxins are going.
It's not the probiotics doing it. It's the disruption of yeast/fungus that's doing it.
Usually it takes potent herbs or antifungal meds to get a reaction like that. If mere probiotics are doing it, that tells me there is a serious colony going on. With me, I suffered bizarre psychiatric stuff by merely cutting down on sugars (they feed on sugars). As they starved and died, all hell broke loose.
