Hello.
I have been trying to figure out what is causing my condition that sparked up 9 months ago. The residual symptoms that I have are:-A pressure in the back of my head, that runs down my neck and spine and feels very tense.
-Stiff, agitated muscles
-Bouts of dizziness and confusion
-Very high anxiety that makes symptoms worse
-fatigue
-occasional tingling in hands and down arm
-pain in left side of pelvisIt is so strange, I feel like my body is plugged into a light socket and won't unbuzz. The most prominent feature is this pressure around the occiput of my head. It never goes away. It feels like tension, like anxiety, almost like a buzz and it will migrate through my head sometimes and down my back. I will have these sudden bouts of dizziness and I have severe anxiety that won't quit, even when I take Seroquel. I feel very juiced up and cannot figure out what is happening.
Current medications:
Zoloft 100 mg morning
Seroquel 25 mg at night
Lamictal 25 mg (am titrating up) morning
Ativan 1mg (about 3 times a week, I am trying not to push this)I am not sure if this is a psychiatric issue or a physical one. I am wondering if some of this is signs of infection, like lymes disease or something like it. Or maybe it is just agitated depression. If this makes any sense to anybody, I would be so grateful for your input. I have been to so many doctors trying to figure out what is going on, and have run many tests. It is not thyroid, testosterone, any std including hiv, any vitamin deficiency other than vit D which I am supplementing.
When this all started, my symptoms were very severe and included:
-The feeling of having a fever, though I didn't have one
-hot flashes
-seeing lights
-neck stiffness
-stomach pain
-nausea
-dizziness
-panic attacks
-severe depression
-acute heart palpitations
-extreme pressure in the head
-dizziness, confusion, and forgetfulness
-fatigue
-inability to sleep, would have continual panic attacks throughout the nightAgain, it feels like my whole system got shocked, or buzzed. I was taking homeopathic remedies at the time as well and I am working on detoxing from those.
Any advice is a blessing!
Thank you!

I may be completely wrong, but after reading about your symptoms and then seeing that you take Ativan, I thought, "Benzo withdrawal." Have you noticed that your symptoms get any better for a few hours after taking Ativan? If you think benzo withdrawal might be the culprit, and you want to get off Ativan, quitting cold turkey would probably be a bad idea. It's usually far better to taper off benzos. I took Ativan almost every night for three years for insomnia, and then started to develop inter-dose withdrawal. I tapered for two months, but Ativan has such a short half-life that this made me very anxious. I did a crossover to Valium, which has a much longer half-life, and tapered that for two months, until I was benzo free.

I appreciate your response, but I wasn't a daily user of Ativan when this all happened. It happened because of a homeopathic remedy which nearly drove me insane. Sadly, I now take Ativan much more often because I am constantly agitated. So it was not the cause, but I know it is of concern. I just haven't found anything else to calm to fire inside yet.
Someone from my church recently explained to me it was a kundalini awakening that happend too quickly due to the homeopathy releasing supressed energy or chi from my childhood. So it's all coming out and it ain't pretty. I know that's a bizarre explanation, but it's as good as any, as no doctor has been able to tell me what's going on. I literally felt fire rise up from my stomach to my head, and the fire feeling is still there most of the time, right at the occiput of my head. It's so bizarre, I don't understand it. I'm not sure what chakra or whatever that is, but that's where it's all trapped now. Crazy town.
This is the end of the thread.
