Has anyone tried ashwaganda?

Posted by Lamdage22 on February 4, 2018, at 2:51:21

Hey babblefriends,

has anyone tried this? I have upped the trazodone from 50mg to 100mg.

Thanks,
Lamdage

i haven't tried it, but i've considered it. readily available, inexpensive, lots of people love it...sounds good to me.

i hope it goes well for you. is the trazadone for sleep? i see that your tranquilizer dosages have been reduced a bit. congratuluations on that.

Of the ginseng type things American ginseng is said to be the most calming or holding, then ashwaganda, going up to Asian Ginseng as the most stimulating.

Ashwaganda tends to make one think about sex which can be annoying or perhaps not.

It feels pretty reasonable to me.

Ashwaganda is an amazing medicinal plant. It has so many different mechanisms in the human body.

It is an immune tonic and modulator, which is very important to mood chemical operation. Stress protective. Anxiollytic. nerve sedative, antipyretic, febrifuge, antibacterial, antimicrobial, astringent, anti tumor, hypnotic, adaptogen, and more. It is also very good for adrenal fatigue, which I think is almost universal in psychiatric patients.

I take Ashwangada in the morning and at night. I take it as part of a Lyme adaptogen protocol and because it is antibacterial especially against Chlamydia strains. It is also helpful for any kind of sexual dysfunction. It does not make me feel tired or sleepy but I am at fairly low doses.

I think it would be an excellent base for an insomnia cocktail but by itself not likely. It does have so many amazing properties for us, though, that it would be a good idea to get on it and stay on it for a long time whether it helps sleep or not.

I started to use this daily on the advice of a naturopath. I take it for thyroid health. I find it has a pronounced effect on my ability to be productive.
