Anyone like Jack Kerouac?

"On the Road", "Dharma Bums", "Big Sur" and many others. "October and the Railroad Earth"

Probably suffered from mid-life onset depression and alcoholism.

Tried to write about spirituality in modern vernacular. Was mistakenly branded as writing about "kicks" and such by those who didn't get it. Not for everybody, a minority taste, but just curious if anybody's read him here.

I read "On the Road". I kinda preferred Burroughs, with whom he wrote "And the Hippos were Boiled in their Tanks", which has been reviewed recently. About Lucien Carr and the hopeless love affair thing.
