Thank you for the responses to my questions about zyprexa. I wanted to ask if anyone has tried omega-three supplements with their children with behavior problems, pervasive developmental disorders, etc. I have recently read anecdotal studies that it appears to help some of these kids. I am constantly looking for something other than drugs to help my son, but know there is a lot of misinformation out there. It is just that the side effects of some of these medications are horrendous. Thanks very much.

Hi
I attended an ADHD clinic and found that the brain of an ADHD does not produce omega-three fatty acids correctly. There is a missing conection in the brain, therefore it is very important these kids take an omega-three supplement. Dr. Greg Hipskin recommended Efalex. Omega-three does take a while to be effective. 12 weeks. Also a high protein soy drink was recommended. Dr. Hipskin said any way you can get them to drink it, ice cream shake etc. ADHD children tend to be hypoglycemic.
I have a friend who is a RN and through her research found that Pepcid AD three times a day is good for behavior problems. Her daughter is Autistic and it only took three weeks for her to see results.
I hope this helps.
