My 12 year old daughter was riding with my friend in her vehicle when out of no where some drunk person ran into them. The guy who hit them took off running.
Apparantly this guy is in a lot of trouble because he is going to court. They want my 12 year old to testify against him.
She is scared. I told the D.A. that they can come pick me up and put me in jail because my child was not gone to court to testify angainst anyone. I will not put her life in jepordy. He could be a mass murderer.

Why would you think he would be a danger to your daughter?
Drunk driving is a pretty serious offense.
My uncle was convicted of it, and he didn't do anything against anyone who testified against him.

Because, I dont want him to see my child. I dont know what kind of man he is. He could be a stalker. He is in trouble for drugs too, and other charges.

The day I posted the above thread was a bad day.
I will handle the situation better now.I will talk to the DA and ask him nicely not to make my child testify.

I wouldn't think they could make a 12 yo testify.
That would be pretty traumatic.fw

that situation pretty much sucks. I understand how you feel, fairywings...if it had just been a drunk frat boy, that would be different but...somebody who seems skeezy, and already is in trouble with various charges...thats a bit troubling. Ordinarily, I'd say she should testify to make sure justice is done, blah blah blah, but if he's already up on drug charges, odds are he's going to be facing some sort of court-imposed punishment anyway, so I don't see what forcing your daughter to testify against him would do for anyone.
This is the end of the thread.
