We have all heard it said, "it's just that easy" whether referring to sewing a dress, repairing a sink, remodeling a house, etc. Well, nothing is all that easy. There is always a hitch. For instance: there is a belief that if one accepts Christ into their life they will be saved. The hitch: you must endure with that acceptance until you die, and you must honor His word, strive (different than try) to keep His commandments, model His values, and love your neighbor, but most important, love and worship God. None of this is easy, but with God to enable us the journey is most pleasant. The key to keeping the commandments, is to strive, not just try. If we say we are trying, we are still open to failure or defeat, but if we strive, it means we are not allowing the defeat or the give up attitude untill we succeed. We don't have to be perfect to be perfected in Christ. Only through Christ may we become perfected in Him.
