I don't call myself a buddhist, but that is the closest to my philosophy of life, and something I am interested in learning more about.
But, I do think us from "alternative" view points are somewhat chased away from this board as it is so focused onto "One God, as the creator of everything". I'm really interested in theology of all kinds, but I'm not really willing to be talked down to, and be told I will spend eternity in purgatory or where ever for my beliefs.
I believe there is room for everyones beliefs in this world, and life would be very boring if we all thought the same. I don't believe any of us will be punished / rewarded for our beliefs after death, and living as the best possible person you can be is the best thing any one person can do.

ps - interesting topic! ta!

If what you state is true, that this board is so focused on One God as the creator of everything, then explain to me why I've been blocked many times (32 weeks in total the last time) for stating my faith in that One God, Creator of everything?
This board is for expressing religious faith (the worship and service of God and the supernatural). You claim that you don't believe in any God. But you come to this board, which is designed for the expression of faith in God, and tell us that we shouldn't express such a faith here.
I'm here to witness about my faith, which is what God calls me to do. You're free to agree or disagree, as is your choice. I cannot prostelityze, which is to FORCE you to join my beliefs. People aren't prostelityzed into Christianity in the first place - they're converted, by a choice of their own. But how can they form a mature choice if they never hear about the options?
This board is more in favor of relativism in terms of spirituality, not in the faiths which teach about absolute truth.
Those who dare to speak of One God, the Creator of all, are eventually blocked - usually because others protest to the point that they must be silenced.
Freedom of beliefs here? I think not.
Shalom, Dena

*** NikkiT2 was not refering to the board but the people who post that "there is only one God".
The board states:
This is a message board for mutual support and education. It focuses on religious faith (which, according to the dictionary, means "the service and worship of God or the supernatural").Can the supernatural include those who are not interested in God?
> This board is more in favor of relativism in terms of spirituality, not in the faiths which teach about absolute truth.
>
***Okay, what does this term "relativism" mean?
Who decides what is absolute truth?> Those who dare to speak of One God, the Creator of all, are eventually blocked - usually because others protest to the point that they must be silenced.
***do you understand why we feel the need to protest (as you put it)? Maybe there is discomfort with the concept of "One God"?
How can anyone religion own God?
> Freedom of beliefs here? I think not.***The lack of freedom, as you call it, is to impose the One God theory.
This world is filled with beliefs and faith.
I think it's so unfair to say your way is the only way to the real God.
I am upset by this concept.
I have spent so many hours pondering how to talk to you about this issue.
Finally I have said what I felt I needed to say.
I fear that you will not understand.
I am sorry if my inability to convey the message gets in the way.
I do care about you and what you think, feel and believe.
Do you care about my beliefs?

Dear Jai -
You wrote: "***The lack of freedom, as you call it, is to impose the One God theory.

Do you care about my beliefs?"I don't, and can't, impose any belief onto another person. For a person to become a Christian, it must be a decision for that person to make, between them and Jesus. No one can be forced to become a Christian - ever. I wouldn't even try to do any imposing.
But I do believe in One God, the one who describes Himself in the Bible. I don't make the claim that He's the only God, and that there's no other way to Him, but His way. However, He makes that claim for Himself. I didn't come up with this notion.
As a Christian, I'm called to share my faith with others. It's up to the others to accept or reject what I share. I can't force it on anyone, nor do I want to. Are you suggesting that I ignore His command to share this with others? And it is His command, not His suggestion.
Yes, the world is full of various beliefs and faiths. Each person has the complete right to choose what they want to believe. But Jesus also tells His followers to go into all the world, sharing the Good News of His salvation.
If I shared a plate of cookies with you, and you didn't want one, you wouldn't have to take one. I wouldn't force them on you. But you couldn't tell me to stop baking them, and you couldn't prevent me from offering them to you. You could continue to politely refuse my offer. Each of us has the right to free choice.
I choose to obey my Lord, and to do as He's told me to do.
I recognize that you may continue to refuse my sharing, and I take no offense at your refusal.
Yes, I do care about your beliefs. Much more than you can possibly imagine.
Shalom, Dena

2. People are free to believe as they like, just not to post some aspects of some beliefs.> As a Christian, I'm called to share my faith with others... Are you suggesting that I ignore His command to share this with others?

Dear Dena, how sweet of you to post such a message.
I know we have some very deep differences but you are such a sweet soul to care about me and my feelings.
Thank you dear Dena.
i am so unclear as to what is happening and why you are being blocked. I am so sorry if I have contributed to this. I will miss you.

Thanks Jai and gerdenergirl.
Jai was right.. I didn't mean the board itself was focused on the "One God" concept, I meant the posters.
This board is not about God, or Jesus.. it is about faith and spirituality. Neither of those are limited to God.

I am a Practacing Taoist, converted from Judism. i defently have "alternative" beliefs and am often preached at. i just wish it was socialy unacceaptable to be intolerant to non-christians or non-christian ethics. then again what does tolerant mean anyway? that im "tolerated", why not just "accepted". im just very turned off from the church and thier "truths". im asuming that i wont be put down or disrespected for my thoughts, just i wouldnt disrespect others for thier's
