Certainty.............isn't!

Posted by 64bowtie on May 8, 2005, at 10:39:55

Certainty is an illusion... When I seek comfort, I seek certain-comfort... Seeking comfort from wisdom and understanding induced into me from the outside by an absolute being has left me confused, frustrated, and in a word, un-comfortable...

When I embrace that notion of the absolute I choose to call God, I notice that I am the 'hands-and-feet' of God here on Earth, an un-certain World... I perceive more and believe less every day, which tends to slow down time in my active life, releasing to me more time for me to take those steps and move those [NOUNS] (people, places, things, ideas) that God might deem... I get better at this each day...

God in my life is a process, not an event; not a certainty...

Be wary of...

...what I am not saying:
1. I am not saying God is un-certain, however, God works in my un-certain life...
2. I am not un-certain about God...
3. I do not seek certainty nor un-certainty...

God, as a process in my un-certain life, unfolds without my doing, and in God's way, and not in my way... I don't arrogantly tell God how to be; how to do...

Your post reminds me of a book I'm reading, "Finding Faith" by Brian McLaren...

it's making me think, let go, and hold on, all at the same time.

I liked your words... they resonated with me.
