I haven't been here for a while, so I'm not up with what is going on with the PBabblers. But generally it seems like a different place today than it was even a year ago. Why is that, and is there something happening in our culture to make people less caring and more callous?
I read today a quote by the president of CP 80 foundation, http://www.cp80.org/ who described the current situation with porn as "a public health emergency," with "the most addictive substance on the face of the earth. It is morally degrading beyond anything we've seen in history."

Here is demonstrated physical damage to the developing brain done by repeated exposere to pornography. The brain processes all images as real, and these images trigger a chemical secretion of the body's sex hormones while shutting down the left hemisphere's cognition, logic, and speech. Erotic images physically restructure, imprint and physically damage the human brain (especially the undeveloped juvenile brain)Kids raised on porn are voting next year. That is going to change everything. It is time we wake up. If porn hasn't touched your life already, it is going to rip huge gaping holes in it. I feel we can win the battle against pornography and save our society, but we'd better get active real quick.

Racer, many things are our legal right in this free land, but that doesn't absolve us from responsibility and consequenses. I was just pointing out that with the flood of pornography that is all around maybe some of us aren't aware of the damage it can cause. And this damage can certainly affect our relationship with our faith, as well as ourself and our family. If that is the case, and if people are just sitting back secretly enjoying it thinking it can cause them no harm, then I shout, wake up and do something about this cancer that is eating its way through our culture. That is what is meant by gaping holes. A hole can become so large it cannot be filled back in, and if this gaping hole is in the minds of our vulnerable children, who will be to blame?
You hear all this talk about saving the earth, and global warming, and enviornmental issues that need to be cleaned up. Why don't we focus on cleaning ourselves up first, because if we would, faith and God would care for the rest of the world's problems.
Can you name one instance in all of history where that did not happen?
My faith tells me that God is faithful and true to His word, as hard as that is to hear. If that offends, what is worse? To be offended by God and block Him so He can't offend again? Or to pay attention? I absolutely guarantee that the reason for the world's problems is that man has turned his back on God, and blocked him from their life because they didn't like Him telling them what they should do. You cannot block God without Satan rushing in to take over, and Satan's only aim is to create sin that leads to misery and death.
I think it's about time we face the black and white of life and spell out a few things clearly so people know what's up and how to get out of the mess they are in. Because believe me, we're in a mess right now with pornography, and its getting worse.
If God was to speak about it what would He tell us to do about pornography? He would lovingly say, "leave it behind, and come follow me". Then He would nurture and lift, lead us one step at a time, till we were straightened out, and happy. God's plan of salvation is a plan for happiness. That I know.

Additionally, while your belief system may lead you to believe that the problems of the world are caused in this manner, that belief system is not shared by everyone here, and those with other belief systems may also feel accused or put down by this post.
